Jannat loses role as she is ‘too old’

Child artiste Jannat Zubair, who was finalised to play the protagonist in Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s next, has been ousted. Reason: She is too old to play the part. The show, said to be the first telly series on animal-human relationship, revolves around a six-year-old girl and a baby elephant.

Jannat had played the title role in Phulwa, also produced by Tewary, two years ago.He confirms, “Jannat was perfect for the role, but over the last couple of years, she has grown up. So, I had to chose Ananya Agarwal.” The shoot, expected to commence by this month end, will take place in the forests of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
