Carving Krishna idol out of butter
Lord Krishna’s love for butter is legendary with a great amount of literature written about the lengths he would go to gorge on it. Ahead of the launch of the show 'Krishan Kanhaiya', SAB TV is all set to unveil a unique idol of Krishna – one that is carved from 430 kilos of butter.
It took several artisans and 300 hours of hard work to carve the 15 foot sculpture.
The artistes worked for over three weeks in 10-15 degrees
temperature, after undergoing 75 hours of training. The butter statue sits in a glass enclosure with temperatures regulated under 15 degrees to prevent it from melting. Weighing around 800 kilos, the structure will be displayed in a mall in Andheri, Mumbai, today, after which the butter will be distributed among the major temples of the city.

Like any commoner, Kanhaiyalal, played by Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, poses various questions to Lord Krishna, essayed by Siddharth Arora, which prompts the God to descend to earth and impart wisdom to the show’s viewers.
