Boys made love in Hindu hostel: Rajesh
For someone who had to scream outside rival St Stephen’s College as part of his ragging, Hindu College graduate Rajesh Kumar was not very happy seeing fenced walls outside Hindu College while on a recent visit there.
“Ab toh barricades charon taraf lag gaye hain. Hum toh kahin se kahin pe bhi kood sakte the. Last time I visited college, I was very disappointed.
Itne grills laga deeye hain. One can hardly peep out. When I was in college, we hardly had such restrictions. Humne St Stephen’s ke aagey bahut gaali galoch ki hai because our seniors asked us to do it,” he says.
Even though Rajesh attended just 35 out of 436 classes, he never got into any serious trouble, unlike other students. “Since I got a seat in Hindu College through the ECA quota, I was expected to miss classes and participate in inter-college competitions. When I was in second year, I was made the cultural secretary of the college, which meant that I couldn’t have attended all my lectures. But my teachers knew that I wasn’t bunking my classes. They would spot me everywhere – under the Virgin Tree, in the library, etc. Unko pata tha main kaam hi kara raha hoon. If I can remember correctly, my principal, Kavita Sharma had helped me get my admit card.”
All work and no fun during college? “Do you really think so? I used to bunk college on the pretext of getting sponsorships for events. College ke kharche pe bahut baar khaana bhi khaya aur doston ko khilaya hai,” he says. Rajesh also tells us what made him earn the nickname ‘Model’ in college. “I had participated in a fashion show at the Siri Fort Auditorium during my first year. I walked the ramp with biggies Rahul Dev and Manpreet Brar and became a celebrity overnight in my college.”
And we had to ask him – is it true that students made love in hostel rooms? “That was true. Hostellers were safe till the time they didn’t bang on the wrong door,” he smiles.
Rajesh speaks about other hinduites
-Imtiaz Ali, director - His theatre group was very popular. He graduated from college when I joined it
-Arjun Rampal, actor - He was a rage in Hindu because he modelled and his photos appeared in mags
-Ritesh Shah, writer - Had lots of dirty talk with him in the Hindu hostel
-Abhishek Chaubey, director - College ke kharche pe khana khilaya hai usse
