Bollywood actors light up the small screen

With TV growing like never before, Bollywood actors are now opting for reality shows and fiction soaps to make a closer connection with their fans.
Rajkummar Rao
After impressing the critics and the audiences alike with his performances in off-beat movies like Shahid and Citylights, actor Rajkummar Rao has been roped in by Ekta Kapoor for her next show on small screen. The untitled show will be about astronauts and outer space and if things work out as planned, will be a first-of-its-kind show on TV.

Sonakshi Sinha
The Dabangg actress will show her bubbly, adorable and childish side as a judge on the music reality show. Shotgun Junior has admitted to being super excited to take the judge’s seat and says that while she is not keen on Bollywood playback singing as her contemporaries, she would love to do a musical concert someday!

Aarya Babbar
Putting his brawny physique and screen presence to use on the small screen, actor Aarya Babbar is now portraying the role of Raavan in the mythological show. Aarya, who has admitted to being fascinated by Raavan, feels playing the demon is the best way for him to debut on TV.

Shreyas Talpade
Known for his perfect comic timing as well as making a strong impact on audiences with roles such as Iqbal, actor Shreyas Talpade is another actor to make his way to small screen. He will be seen hosting some of the upcoming episodes of Savdhaan India.

Amrita Puri
After making an impact with character roles in Aisha and Kai Po Che, actress Amrita Puri made her television debut in Anurag Basu’s show. Playing one of Rabindranath Tagore’s lead characters – Charulata – the actress will be seen as a Bengali, strong, confident woman.

Shahid Kapoor
As part of a reshuffle of the judges panel, it is now confirmed that one of Bollywood’s best dancers – Shahid Kapoor – will replace actress Madhuri Dixit and join choreographer Ganesh Hegde on the panel. The actor with lightening in his shoes will start shooting for the show right after coming back from his honeymoon!

Lisa Haydon
Model and actress Lisa Haydon will step into the shoes of supermodel Petra Nemcova in the Indian version of America’s Next Top Model. Lisa, who has been part of the modelling industry for quite some time now, will judge the contestants who will come from all across India, and offer them some grooming tips as well.
