Singer Neha Bhasin, renowned for her stint on Bigg Boss OTT, recently took to social media to express her frustration over the objectification of women in music. Without naming anyone, Neha criticized several male rappers and singers for including derogatory references to women in their lyrics. She also highlighted the growing trend of children making reels on songs with demeaning lyrics.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Neha wrote, “I am so fed up with below-average male rappers and wannabe singers calling women weird stuff in their songs. And all Indian men and women folks are OK WITH IT. Is there a limit to the hypocrisy of sexism in India? Ladka kare toh Bhai, dude. Ladki kare toh character dheela (If boys do it, they’re cool; if girls do it, their character is questioned).”
In her caption, Neha added, “I don’t have a cage I want to open. I am not doodh malai, and I am certainly not a banta ki bottle. Grow up already.” She further criticized societal double standards in the comments section, stating, “Society keeps blaming women for spoiling culture with their clothing, but children are making reels on demeaning lyrics because it’s trending. I mean, come on.”
Neha has also opened up about her struggles with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) since her teenage years. In 2022, she was diagnosed with low progesterone, which worsened her health condition by 2024 despite years of managing it without medication.
