Bigg Boss Marathi winner Jay Dudhane arrested by Thane Police at Mumbai Airport in an alleged Rs 5 crore fraud case; actor denies any involvement

Splitsvilla 13 and Bigg Boss Marathi 3 fame Jay Dudhane, who recently got married to social media influencer Harshala Patil, in a lavish ceremony, has been arrested at the Mumbai Airport today (January 4). The arrest was made in connection with an alleged real estate scam of Rs 4.61 cr. The fraud case was confirmed by Senior Police Inspector Pravin Mane.

According to a report in PTI, he was arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by a retired engineer. He accused Dudhane and four of his family members of defrauding him of Rs 4.61 crore. The retired engineer alleged in his FIR that they made him purchase five commercial shops, which were mortgaged to a bank, in Thane, informed the police.

Jay Dudhane, a prominent fitness instructor and model, was arrested at the airport on Saturday, confirmed senior police inspector Pravin Mane.

The FIR stated that Dudhane used forged documents to cheat the victim. He used a fake bank clearance letter and a counterfeit demand draft worth Rs 4.95 crore. The scam came to light after the bank issued a seizure notice for the property.

Police had booked Dudhane and four other members of his family under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for cheating and forgery.

Further investigation is underway.

The arrest comes just days after his wedding to social media influencer Harshala Patil on December 24.

While speaking to TV9 about the case and using fake documents, Jay said, "Honestly, I was shocked… If anyone has proof, let them present it. It’s unbelievable because the agreement has already been executed, and it would be impossible for one shop to be sold to multiple people. If it’s true, then prove it."

He also claimed in the interview that he was unaware of the LOC (lookout circular) issued against his name, he said, “At the airport, during immigration, I was informed that I cannot leave the country. When I realised this, I fully cooperated with the authorities and will continue to do so with all procedures."
