Bigg Boss 7 fame actor
Ajaz Khan has landed in legal trouble once again after Indore Police registered a case against him for allegedly promoting enmity between communities through a social media post. The case was filed following a complaint lodged by local resident Irshad Hakim.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya, Ajaz has been booked under Sections 196 (promoting enmity), 223 (disobeying lawful orders of public servants), and 353(1)(b) and 353(1)(c) (statements leading to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The controversy erupted after Ajaz shared an Instagram ‘Story’ about the death of notorious gangster Salman Lala. The ‘Story’ feature allows videos, images, and text to disappear automatically after 24 hours. However, the clip quickly went viral. In the video, Ajaz allegedly made objectionable statements that, according to police, were aimed at fueling hatred and tension between communities.
"An investigation has been launched into the matter, and we have also emailed Instagram’s parent company, Meta, requesting a detailed analysis of Khan’s account and appropriate action," Dandotiya said.
This is not the first time Ajaz has faced legal action. Earlier, he was arrested in a drug-related case and spent 26 months in prison before being granted bail in June 2023. After his release, the actor spoke to Bombay Times, describing his prison experience as harrowing and calling it a “miracle” that he came out alive. He also shared that he was actively trying to rebuild his career and find work in the entertainment industry.
With this fresh case, Ajaz Khan once again finds himself embroiled in controversy as the investigation into his viral video continues.
