Bigg Boss 19: From Salman Khan opening up about his love life to Amaal Malik addressing his controversial ‘depression’ post on social media; Top highlights from the grand premiere

Bigg Boss 19 has begun and fans are already enjoying the show. The grand premiere (on August 25) introduced the contestants, new additions in the Bigg Boss house, and some major revelations. While Salman opened up about his love life, Amaal spoke about his depression phase. Here’s all you need to know:

Pranit took an indirect dig at comedian Samay Raina and said, “Even if I don’t try, comedians are always in controversies. Aisa bhi samay theek nahi chal raha hai.” He then joked, “Ab jaana hi hota hai har comedian ko, toh socha Bigg Boss chale jau.” Salman burst into laughter and asked him, “Tum gaye ho kya? (Have you been to jail?).” To this, Pranit clarified that he had not.

Amaal opened up about cutting ties with his family and spoke about his social media post that emphasized his struggle with depression. He said, “I was suffering from clinical depression.” The singer-composer also recalled the time he publicly spoke about his mental health struggles. “When I shared a post about feeling depressed, many people, including my parents, thought I shouldn’t have done it,” he admitted.

The show saw a shocking twist where Mridul was selected, while Shehbaz could not enter the house due to fewer votes. He expressed how he had been manifesting being a part of the show since season 13 and really wanted the opportunity. Salman wished him the best, after which Mridul entered the house.

Gaurav Khanna made a stylish entry on the Bigg Boss 19 stage and impressed everyone. He enjoyed a fun banter with host Salman Khan and introduced himself as the ‘green flag.’ “Indian mummyon ka favourite beta and favourite damad. I am called green flag because I am brought up like that,” said Gaurav. Salman quipped, “Other guys might have a problem with that. Andar jayega toh saare colours ke flags bahar ayenge.”

Contestant Tanya Mittal asked Salman about his love life. Responding to her, Salman candidly said, “Mujhe kabhi saccha pyaar hua hi nahi.” Tanya then asked, “Sachha pyaar adhoora rehta hai kya?” To this, Salman replied, “I don’t know, mujhe hua hi nahi hai. Aapki puri life toh khuli reel hai.” He later teased her by showing a few of her Instagram reels, where Tanya was seen flaunting her ‘VIP lifestyle.’ Salman then jokingly told her that she might not get the same VIP treatment inside the Bigg Boss house.

Awez and Nagma opened up about their relationship and revealed that they are in a ‘test drive’ phase. Awez told Salman, “Mera joh past tha woh bahot heavy raha hai, main bilkul bhi nahi tha relationship ko lekar…aur main nahi chahta tha ke Nagma struggle kare mere saath… Toh abhi main trial basis par hoon.” Nagma, on the other hand, playfully said, “Main bhaav kha rahi hoon abhi toh maine isko test drive par rakha hai…ke tu abhi mera dil jeet.”
