Bigg Boss 19: From cutting off ties with family to breakup with girlfriend over religious issues – Amaal Mallik’s top controversies

Bigg Boss 19 has been making waves on social media with its entertaining episodes and fun segments. Amaal Mallik has been grabbing eyeballs ever since the very start. From making major revelations to controversial statements against the contestants, he has not failed to make headlines since the start of the show.

Amaal Mallik made headlines after he announced that he has cut off ties with his family and brother Armaan Malik. He shared a post on his Instagram handle confirming the same. However, when he entered reality show Bigg Boss 19, he revealed how he made that post out of anger and he has not really cut off ties with his family members. He even shared how there were constant comparisons between him and his brother Armaan Malik, which affected him deeply.

In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 19, Amaal shared how he was boycotted by top producers and actors. He shared, “Bahut dhamkiya mili hai, khatam kar dunga, ye kar dunga, wo kar dunga, dekhte hain kitna chaloge iss industry mein. Bade bade producers and actors ne picture se nikala hai. Main yehi khada hoon par. Ek hit dunga, phir se aayenge. Industry aisi hai.”

In one of the episodes, Amaal mentioned how his ex-girlfriend’s family opposed their relationship over religious issues. He shared, “She was literally sick, so weak… I sat with her for hours and tried to explain that her parents weren’t agreeing.” He also spoke about the heartbreak of her wedding, “She asked me on stage and even over the phone, ‘If you come, I won’t get married.’ I couldn’t go because then it would come on me, and I had… then it would come on me.”

Amaal has constantly been in the news over his ‘derogatory remarks’ against the fellow contestants. From throwing Farhana’s plate while she was eating food to questioning Awez and Nagma’s relationship, Amaal has made headlines over his controversial statements ever since the very start. In a recent episode, father Daboo Malik made an appearance and expressed his take over the same. Amaal then apologised for his ‘language and derogatory remarks’ on the show.

Amaal shared how he struggled to get work for years in the industry and that troubled him a lot. He said, “I’ve never used my father’s name to get anywhere. I used to roam around with a keyboard and try to get work. One day, I met someone and sang four of my songs in the lift, and they asked me for my introduction. During that time, we had a loan of Rs 3.5–4 crore because of some reasons, and neither my uncle nor anyone else helped us. My grandfather was very serious and was admitted to the hospital, and because of that, we took loans. Armaan used to do voice-overs and earn Rs 15,000–20,000. It was a tough time because we were on the verge of selling our house and car.”

Amaal also shared how the family differences affected him and his brother. He recalled that at parties or family events, his uncle Anu Malik’s children would often avoid his family. He shared how he has a strained relationship with uncle Anu Malik and his family. He described Anu as highly ambitious and compared him to a lion chasing his goals. While Amaal respected his uncle’s drive, he admitted that the bond between the cousins broke with time.
