Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Malik slammed for his 'choodi aur saari pehno' comment after fight with Abhishek Bajaj; fans call it 'misogynist'
As the popular reality show Bigg Boss 19 progresses into its second week, the conversations and controversies around the show keeps getting worse. From contestants showing off about their life outside to small fights over food turning into big clashes, it’s clear that some housemates forget they are on camera 24/7. One such contestant who has found himself in the headline for the wrong reasons is singer Amaal Malik, who recently had a fight with co-contestant Abhishek Bajaj.
In one of the latest episodes, Amaal and Abhishek were seen having argument over food. Amaal stopped Abhishek from sitting and eating on the sofa or bed outside the living room. Amaal explained that he sleeps in that spot, however Abhishek still insisted on sitting there. Things got worse when Abhishek tried to forcibly sit on the sofa, which left Amaal frustrated. Amaal in anger abused him, which further worsened the situation.
Abhishek, upset by what happened, later spoke to fellow contestant Zeishan Qadri. Zeishan, along with Baseer, confronted Amaal about the matter. Amaal however stood to his point and defended his actions. During the conversation, he compared asking repeated questions to weakness and made remarks involving women’s clothing. Amaal said, “Us din isne mereko eliminate kiya maine isko ek bhi baar pucha ke kyun kia? Baar baar 100 bar puchna hai ke kyun kar rahe ho toh ghar jao, choodi peheno, saree bhi odh lo, bindi bhi laga lo.” Zeishan and Amaal also mocked and laughed over Abhishek.
These words did not go down well with viewers. One user on X wrote: “I’ll never understand why some men insult others by saying they are like women. Kisi ne 2 baatein pouch li tu wo larki ho gaya? Aur galiyan dedo tu tum bohat bare mard?”
Another user commented: “Calling Abhishek ‘ladki’ and saying wear saree bangles behind his back isn’t just a weak shot at him — it’s an insult to women too. Saree and bangles are pride, not punchlines.”
This isn’t the first time Amaal has been in controversy inside the Bigg Boss house. Earlier, he made remarks about influencers Awez Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar, saying they only respect him because they are paid around Rs 20 lakh to promote his music. This statement angered their families. Nagma’s brother, Mohammed Ali Mirajkar, clarified that their respect is professional and not bought. Awez’s sister too spoke out and questioned why respect is linked with money in Amaal’s opinion.
As the comment continues to draw backlash online, it adds yet another layer to the growing criticism around Amaal’s conduct on the show.
