Bigg Boss 18: From falling in love on the sets of Pandya Store to the recent marriage proposal controversy; A look at Alice Kaushik and Kanwar Dhillon's relationship

With the recent episode of Bigg Boss 18, Salman Khan made a shocking revelation to Alice Kaushik. A few days ago the actress was seen talking to Karan Veer Mehra about her relationship with Kanwar Dhillon. The actress shared how he had proposed to her to marry, while Dhillon refuted the statement outside. He mentioned, that he hadn't proposed about marriage to Alice, there is still time for that. Alice broke down in tears after hearing this. Taking a look back at the duo's relationship and how did they fall in love on the sets of Pandya Store:

Kanwar had exclusively shared with BT, "We met on the sets of Pandya Store. Alice came for her mock shoot in March 2021 and we soon started shooting. I was curious about her name and she told me how her mother used to watch Alice in Wonderland, which is how she had a different name. So, I cracked a joke saying that my mother did not name me Flintstones or Scooby Dhillon because she never watched those shows. That broke the ice!"

Alice added, "I was the last girl to do the mock shoot with him. I feel that everything happens for a reason and that’s why I started shooting in a few days.

While exclusively sharing about their first impressions with BT, Kanwar said, "Alice is a quiet girl and I am the opposite, I like making friends. So I never thought we could connect or even be good friends because we were quite different from each other. Later, I discovered her fun-loving and bubbly side and we became good friends." Alice further said, "Kanwar is a lot of fun to talk to. I opened up to a new world of beliefs, ideologies, perceptions and felt a great comfort level in our conversations. Kanwar became my best friend soon."

Kanwar shared that when he realised it was love, "It was a gradual process and not instant. We shared beautiful chemistry on screen, which eventually transformed into real chemistry. Unknowingly, we are similar to our characters — Shiva and Raavi. We would joke about how it would be so chaotic or difficult to play Shiva-Raavi in real life because they are so different and yet, we grew fond of each other over time. And finally, I found that there was more to our connection. Our bond strengthened when we shot through the second lockdown away from our families in Bikaner."

Alice revealed, "Kanwar used to make me laugh throughout the day. I used to love his deep, husky voice. There were many scenes in the show when Raavi and Shiva had to keep looking into each other’s eyes. With other actors, it used to get awkward, but it felt organic with Kanwar. We could gaze into each other’s eyes and feel that connection. Besides, we spent almost 12 hours a day together. After I developed a soft corner for him, I sensed that he was also feeling the same. I felt so much love for him when he made me feel special on all occasions."

Alice shared, "He proposed when we were shooting in Gajner in a huge palace and it was during the lockdown, so we were cut off from the world. He couldn’t do anything flashy or overtly romantic, but he knew my love for flowers. He got me a rose and he gave it to me during our lunch break. And then he proposed, asking me to be his girlfriend. I was very happy." Kanwar added, "Honestly, I’m the last person to propose or even ask anyone out. I have always found it too clichéd, but something felt right and I asked Alice to be my girlfriend in Gajner Palace, Bikaner while shooting during the lockdown."

The duo made their relationship official on a games-based show where all the shows from the channel were competing. Soon after, Kanwar dropped a romantic video of the surprise he planned on Valentine's Day for Alice. He bought her a bouquet of roses, and special chocolates and booked a special treat of taking her on a chopper ride.

Kanwar exclusively shared with TOI TV, "I can’t go inside Bigg Boss first of all. I am an actor from the competition channel, so sadly I won’t be able to go on Bigg Boss. There are contractual issues and Shaadi ka chakkar Mujhe Samajh nahi aaya. I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. Don’t believe social media as most of the things are fake and rubbish. Don’t believe these rumours. I'm not getting married and I’m not going to go on and get married on national television ever."
