Abdul on his childhood

Learning about his illness

Faith in God

All through Abdu said, "I didn't lose hope because I believed that God will make me normal. God is great. I never lost hope and I have never been sad. I am thankful to God for everything. I am still healthy. Some people don't have eyes or feet. I feel better than some normal heighted people who do not have opportunities as I have now. I can provide for my family. When school teachers asked him not to come to school

Abdu shared in the interview that he was asked not to come to school by his teachers. "They told me I was very short and I couldn't handle my books as those were very heavy for me, so I should not come to school," he said. Abdu hardly has 3 years of formal school education and added, "Because they said 'Do not come' and they did not give me books. I bought my own books and studied at home, and I just started learning to sing when I was 7 or 8." (Photo: Instagram)

Being bullied in school

Abdu shared that all was well in the initial years of his school but as they started growing up, things changed. He revealed that even though his classmates were good to him, the senior boys troubled him. He said, "They would stop and beat me. I did not do or say anything to them. When he was beaten up by the teacher

Abdu revealed he was once beaten up by the teacher after he accidentally threw a wrapped paper at a girl during a game. The girl complained to the teacher who beat him up so badly that he got bruises and his face and ears got swollen. He called it the worst memory of his school. (Photo: Instagram)

Relationship with parents

The singer said that he shares a great relationship with his parents. He shared, "Now I am going to be 19 and my parents have never beaten me up although that's normal in our culture. Of course, sometimes they shout and tell me what to do and what not to do. But they have never beaten me up. I talk to them everyday." (Photo: Instagram)
