Bharat Ahlawwat on his bond with on-screen sister Sehaj Rajput in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile: Just like with my sister, I’ll always be there for her
New show Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, anchored around the intriguing Aata Saata marriage custom still prevalent across parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, this bold narrative takes an unconventional dive into the complex dynamics of relationships, driven by the love for family. The show introduces two modern, headstrong protagonists—fiercely independent and sharp-witted Reporter Reet (played by Ayushi Khurana) and a temperamental man-child with a tough exterior that masks a wounded soul Raghav (played by Bharat Ahlawwat), where Reet makes a startling choice to marry not for love, but as a ‘guarantee’ for her sibling's happiness. The show explores whether love can flourish in a marriage born out of familial obligation.
For an actor, creating on-screen chemistry can be a rewarding experience, especially when working with a co-star who feels so naturally relatable that every scene flows effortlessly. This has been exactly the case for Bharat Ahlawat, who plays the protective older brother to Sehaj Rajput’s character, Unnati, in the show. Bharat shared that portraying this sibling bond with Sehaj feels natural because he himself has a younger sister, making the connection even more authentic. In fact, Bharat and Sehaj have already developed a sibling-like rapport that shines both on-screen and off.
Bharat said, “When I first met Sehaj, there was an instant spark of friendship between us. It’s so natural for me to look out for her on set, just like I do for my sister at home. From her quirks to her sense of humour, to her way of troubling me on the set, it's like working with my own sister. Even when we are shooting the sibling bond moments, we don’t have to put in a lot of effort, it just comes out naturally. When the cameras roll, we end up having so much fun on set, and when not shooting we laugh together, eat together, go get coffees during our breaks, and make the most of that time. Just like with my sister, I’ll always be there for Sehaj, and I hope our friendship continues to grow with the show.”
