With the festive season in full swing, actress Shubhangi Atre, best known for her role as the beloved Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, is soaking in the celebrations both on and off screen. Talking about how the festivities truly begin with
Navratri, Shubhangi shares, “Navratri always feels like the real start of our festive season. The whole vibe changes — there’s colour everywhere, music, people coming together, and so much positive energy. Once Navratri begins, you automatically start feeling excited for Dussehra, Diwali, and all the festivals that come after.”
The actress believes that festivals act as a natural cleanser for the mind and soul. “I truly feel festivals give us a reset button. We decorate our homes, do poojas, spend time with family and friends — and all of that brings a different kind of freshness. When you see lights, colours, and smiling faces everywhere, you automatically forget negativity,” she says with a warm smile.
For Shubhangi, the continuous chain of celebrations plays a key role in keeping spirits high. “This chain of festivals keeps our energy up because you’re always looking forward to the next one.
You’re planning, decorating, meeting people, wearing new outfits — it’s a beautiful cycle of togetherness and joy,” she explains.
The actress also enjoys filming festival sequences for her hit sitcom. “The sets look gorgeous, the costumes are so beautiful, and the whole cast and crew get into a cheerful mood. Sometimes it feels like we’re actually celebrating with our on-screen family. Viewers also love it because they see their favourite characters celebrating the same festivals they’re celebrating at home,” she adds.
Sharing details of a recent shoot, Shubhangi reveals, “We recently shot a Navratri sequence with garba, dandiya, lights, and lots of colour. And because our show has a fun, light-hearted side, we even added a little comedy to the celebrations — which made the whole sequence even more entertaining.”
For Shubhangi, Navratri isn’t just a festival — it’s the beginning of a joyful, colourful season filled with laughter, love, and positivity.
