Bigg Boss 19: Baseer Ali Revamps Style After Salman Khan Slammed his Weekend Ka Vaar look; Stylist Reacts to Backlash and his 'fired' comment
After being pulled up last weekend by Salman Khan for his “haphazard” appearance on Bigg Boss 19, Baseer Ali returned to Weekend Ka Vaar with a completely revamped look — sharper, cleaner, and more statement-driven. The change did not go unnoticed, and his stylist Sneha Malani, who along with Nagma Murki curates all of Baseer’s outfits for the season, opened up about the criticism, the process behind the looks, and the road ahead.
“Fashion is vast and subjective. Not every outfit resonates with everyone, but every look we styled for Baseer was thoughtfully put together, keeping in mind his comfort, screen presence, and the show’s vision,” Sneha said, adding that constructive feedback — even from Salman Khan — is taken as motivation. “When Salman sir talks, the entire nation listens. For us, it’s an honour to even be in that conversation. His words carry weight and push us to do better.”
Baseer had, in the heat of the moment, even said that his stylists were “fired.” Sneha brushed it off gracefully. “Those words came from a place of emotion rather than intent. Being inside the house, he doesn’t have visibility of what really happens outside. We respect that and stay focused on ensuring he continues to make an impact with his looks," she adds.
Addressing the chatter around certain “unflattering” fits, Sneha clarified that none of the rejections from production were due to budget or lack of styling effort. “Every look, even the rejected ones, was carefully curated to suit Baseer’s personality. Sometimes changes happen at the last minute due to logistical or creative reasons on the production side, which is common in television. But whatever Baseer wore, he carried with confidence," she shares.
On the blazer-pants-tie set that never made it to screen, she explained: “The look was ready and thoughtfully designed, but it didn’t go through due to internal production reasons. We later found out the fits were misplaced. These things happen in the rush of a show like Bigg Boss.”
Despite the hurdles, Sneha insists that every piece worn by Baseer — weekday or weekend — has been the result of her and Nagma’s vision, often in collaboration with designers such as Paak Pehnawa, and SA Majid Designer Studio, who work under tight timelines.
As for the way forward, Sneha is clear that the reset has only made them push harder. “Fashion is about reinvention. Every weekend is a new chance to experiment, refine, and elevate. This weekend onwards, expect looks that are bolder, sharper, and impossible to ignore. Baseer will walk in wearing statements, not just outfits," the stylist concludes.
