Asmita Sharma: For the past eight years I have mostly been offered Thakurain characters
Much like the first season, Asmita Sharma’s portrayal of Thakurain
Talking about her choice of roles, she says, “It is a conscious effort to choose characters that are different and expect a lot out of me as a performer. Every time I get an offer, I check the relevance of my character in the story, the range of the part, whether it will satiate my hunger as an actor, before I say yes."
The actress shares that negative characters and those with grey shades have always fascinated her. “Over the years I have played various characters but for the first time, I played a negative role in Pratigya season one. Unlike positive roles, negative roles have no limitations,” she says.

in Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2 has been garnering good reviews from the audience. The actress is thrilled and says, “Just like the first season of Pratigya, this time too my character took time to grow on viewers, Amma is slowly coming into form. She has much to do. characters. Forget the audience, it feels like the industry is not ready to accept me in anything else. They don’t think I am capable of excelling in other kinds of characters. It does hurt you. It's time actors are trusted for their capabilities and offered a variety of roles. If an actor can play one character perfectly well, then why can’t the same person do wonders in a different role altogether?"end of article
