It was a double celebration for actor Ashish Chowdhry. Reason: His wife Samita Bangargi delivered twins recently. And now, the couple has named them Salara and Sammah. Ashish says, “Salara was born first and Sammah entered the world a minute later. I have always wanted to call my daughter Salara even before Agasthya (their six-year-old son) was born.
Sammah has been derived from our names (Ashish and Samita).”

When I left them, they were 15 days old, and now when I am back, they’re almost two months. It’s a professional hazard my kids will face even when they grow up. I convinced myself by thinking that I’m working for the kids and their future.”
And how has the new responsibility changed the second-time father? “Fatherhood has only made me more responsible. Men are usually a little immature and complacent before they become fathers. I have become better than I was in all aspects. I want to set an example for my kids so that they are proud of their father,” he replies.
The actor is enjoying his television stint (he returned to the tube with Ek Mutthi Aasmaan) and he says he will never quit the medium now. “TV has always been my calling. It was the norms of the industry that didn’t allow me to work on television while doing a film. Today, the barriers are broken. I will always respect television as a medium because I was noticed as an actor first on it,” he concludes.
