It’s that time of the year when our hearts and surroundings become vibrant and colourful. Holi has its own significance and is celebrated widely in India. Actor Arushi Nishank shares her Holi memories and how she likes to celebrate the festival every year.
She says, “I don't enjoy playing Holi but it becomes special when I get a chance to meet my family and friends on the occasion and celebrate with them. I love everything attached to the festival like eating gujiya, having thandai and dancing to some foot-tapping music. As far as my favourite memory is concerned, it was when one of my cousins had made bhang ke pakode and we ate them and all of us went crazy!"
She adds, "Over a period of time, the definition of festivals has changed. But, I feel festivals are very important as they bring family and friends together.”
In the last couple of years, Holi festivities were muted owing COVID, but this year has been different. Arushi made a plan to be with family in her hometown Dehradun. “Due to my shoots, I hardly get time to visit my hometown and meet my family and friends. I like to apply the gulal ka teeka and always tell everyone to play a safe Holi and not smear people with harmful colours."
