Arjun Bijlani comes out in support of Samarth Jurel after viral video with Jannat Zubair sparks backlash; says 'don’t malign his image'
Laughter Chefs is loved by viewers for its fun mix of comedy and cooking, and it has witnessed three successful seasons so far. The show which has managed to stay away from controversies recently faced criticism from a few netizens after a video of Samarth Jurel went viral on social media. The show faced backlash for promoting a “forced love angle” between Samarth Jurel and Jannat Zubair.
A clip from the Eid special went viral online, showing Samarth Jurel playfully teasing Jannat Zubair, though she seemed a bit uncomfortable during the moment. However, now Arjun Bijlani has come into Samarth's defence and slammed those who are tryin to malign Samarth's image. Arjun has reacted to the video and criticism towards Samarth.
Once the video started doing the rounds on social media, many people criticised Samarth Jurel for his behaviour. Some users also blamed the makers, saying they were trying to force a love angle between him and Jannat Zubair. Arjun has responded to the backlash and asked fans not to “malign his image.” Trying to put the controversy to rest, he shared a comment on a post that read, “Ok so firstly Jannat and Samarth are good friends and secondly she is not at all uncomfortable around him. So please don’t malign his image. He is a good soul and yes keep enjoying the show.. Thank you for your attention."
Earlier, Samarth also reacted to the trolling and stated that he doesn't take such things seriously. During a conversation with Buzzooka, he said that he doesn’t take social media chatter seriously. The actor said, “There are negative and positive comments which do the rounds on social media, and honestly speaking, I do not take it seriously. There are lots of bigger things that have happened in life, so this is a very small issue. I feel it is best to ignore it."
He also spoke about Jannat and other Laughter Chefs team members' reaction to the controversy. He said, "We all were neutral. We chose to ignore it as there was no depth in the matter."
