Their victory for the album "This Moment" marked a proud moment for India, eliciting congratulations from various quarters, including celebrities like Rupali Ganguly from the television industry.

Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain collaborated with John McLaughlin, V Selvaganesh, and Ganesh Rajagopalan in their fusion band, which resulted in the album "This Moment." Featuring eight new compositions and released on June 30th the previous year, the album marked Shakti's first new release in over 45 years.
Their victory at the Grammy Awards came amidst tough competition from other nominees in the category, including renowned artists like Susana Baca, Bokante, Burna Boy, and Davido. Zakir Hussain's remarkable feat of winning three Grammys in one night added to the celebration.
