‘Anupamaa’ March 9 written update: Prarthana dies saving Anupama in a freak accident, leaving everyone distraught

The episode begins with Rahi and Prem talking about Prarthana and her baby. Rahi tells her husband that she feels weird for some reason, and wonders if Prarthana does not come back in time, Vasundhara will get even angrier about everything. Gautam also wonders where they are and tells Mahi that if something happens to Pranshi, he will not leave the Kotharis alone and take revenge.

Prarthana gets hit by a speeding truck

As Anupama returns from the car, she falls on the road. Prarthana gives Pranshi to Ansh and says that she will go and help Anupama. As she goes up to Anupama, a speeding truck heads their way. While saving Anupama, Prarthana is hit by the truck.




At home, a photo frame holding Prarthana’s photo breaks, further worrying Vasundhara about why the couple and Anupama are not home yet. Just then, Anupama comes back home covered in dirt while holding onto Pranshi, who keeps crying in her arms. Everyone in the family starts asking her what happened and where Prarthana and Ansh are. As Rahi takes Pranshi from her and Gautam yells at her and asks her what she did, Anupama remembers a flashback of Prarthana, and then falls unconscious to the floor.

A few days later, Anupama and Ansh have not been able to move on

The time lapse shows that a few days have gone by after Prarthana’s passing; however, Anupama continues to blame herself for everything. The Kotharis continue to mourn her loss, as Parag refuses to eat and keeps crying about how he should not have allowed her and Ansh to go to the temple.

The Shah family also talks about the incident at home, with Leela commenting that Anupama has not been able to move on from the event. Paritosh also says that even though it was an accident, the Kotharis are going to be blaming Anupama for everything that has happened.

To help Anupama, Leela, and Hasmukh call Devika to help her and take her away from here. She reassures them and tells them that she will do whatever she can to help her friend. The Shahs also tell her not to worry about Ansh, as they will take care of him.

Devika convinces Anupama to leave Ahmedabad

Devika and Anupama talk about what has happened, and Anupama starts blaming herself for everything. She says that she is a bad person; however, Devika stops her from going any further. She tells Anupama that she needs to go to another country; however, she cannot take her daughter Jaya with her. She asks Anupama to go and take care of Jaya while she is away, and that Ansh will be fine here with the Shah family.

The episode comes to an end with Rahi and Prem taking care of Pranshi while the family deals with Prarthana’s death.
