'Anupamaa’ January 8 written update: Pakhi stays put on her decision to marry Diwakar

January 8’s episode starts with Anupama confronting her daughter for choosing to marry Diwakar. She criticizes her choice and calls her out for being irresponsible. Rahi and Prem back her up, but Diwakar puts his own spin on the story.

Diwakar alleges Rahi was giving him signals

As Anupama scolds Pakhi, Prem and Rahi back her up and explain to everyone what happened and why they are against her marrying Diwakar. Rahi explains how Diwakar approached her and harassed her. However, Diwakar puts his own spin on the story and alleges that he was not at fault here, as Rahi had been sending him mixed signals. He further adds, “Mai mard hun, thoda sa behak gaya” (I am a man, I got a little lost).




His statement infuriates Rahi, who then slaps him in front of everyone. Anupama also condemns him for his actions and keeps calling him out. Despite all of this, Pakhi remains adamant about her decision to marry Diwakar and tells everyone to accept him.

Pakhi takes Diwakar’s side

Pakhi continues to side with Diwakar over everyone else’s argument and calls him the victim in the situation. She further says that she trusts Diwakar more than her family and is choosing him over everyone else. She further adds that she does not believe what her family is telling her.

Pakhi also insists on the fact that she has been living her life for her daughter, Ishani, but now she wants to choose what to do with her life. The whole family keeps trying to convince Pakhi that Diwakar is not a good person. After a while, even Ishani is asked to talk to her mother. She tells Pakhi that if Anu Ma is saying someone is not a good person, then she should believe her fully.

Diwakar tries to seek Anupama’s forgiveness

As everyone continues to try to dissuade Pakhi from her decision, Diwakar suddenly drops to his knees, asking Anupama for her forgiveness. She and Prem ask him to leave; however, Ansh intervenes. He tells everyone to start preparing for the wedding right away, and tells Pakhi and Diwakar that they should be together without having anyone interfere in their relationship.

Later, as everyone has left, Anupama goes to Pakhi in her room, only to find her trying on a red saree that has been gifted to her by Diwakar.

Next episode’s preview

The preview for the next episode shows Ansh asking Anupama for her opinion on something. Without knowing too many details, Anupama advises him that if it is something that makes them happy, then he should go forward with it.

In the Kothari house, Motiba announces that she will be at the farmhouse during Ansh and Prarthana’s godbharai as she does not wish to meet Anupama. Prarthana however stops her and tells her that she does not need to go as Anupama and her family will not be coming to the family event.
