Actor Shiwani Chakraborty, who is seen as Meeta in Anupamaa, believes failure is very important to shape one's career.
She said, "Failure is a very important part of your life. Because if you don't fail, you will not get the idea of what to do next. Some people get success so early and easily that they don't know what failure is. Later, if they face any disturbance or problem, they get disturbed about it; then again, they head toward that same depression and loneliness."
"I think for a good journey, failure is a very important part of your life. Because if you don't fail, you won't even know what it means to pass. When you are sometimes unsuccessful, you realize how important success is. Likewise, you will have to endure negative things to know what is positive," she added.
Asked what habits or mindsets helped her the most during her early struggles, she said, "I always say one thing: only patience and positivity. Since childhood, I have learned from my father and mother that you have to be very patient. You cannot expect everything to happen today, or for your work to be done in a split second. It happens; it’s luck or a fluke.
Sometimes it does happen, but you should be prepared that everything takes its own time; everything has its own time."
Shiwani believes when one understands that they have already won half the battle of their life. She said, "Have patience and a positive approach. Because until you bring positivity into your mind, you will be surrounded by negative thoughts, because people are there to pull your legs any day, whether you are doing right or wrong."
"Be positive and be happy. Being happy is also very important in life because without inner happiness, you will feel very lonely and helpless. I think this is the mindset I have kept since childhood, which allows me to pull through even during my bad days," she added.
She agrees that mental health plays a very important role in life. She said, "I would like to share the measures you can take to keep your mental health good. People today are very sensitive and a bit fragile, and they feel that if they cannot endure a certain situation, then life is over. But I think it is an individual mindset; it is about how you personally handle a situation. If your mindset is strong from the beginning, then you will handle everything very lightly and easily. But if you are not mentally strong, then you can take things; otherwise, it will be very difficult, not just in life or your career, but everywhere."
"If you are at your in-laws' house, you cannot survive if your mental status is not strong. If you are at work where so many colleagues are with you, if your mindset is not strong, you will break very quickly. You have to be very strong in your mind. I believe your mental health must be very strong along with your physical health," Shiwani ended.
