Anu Malik as a guest for a 90s special episode. The music composer was floored with the talent of the contestants and even gave a signing offer to one of them.
Anu praised
Shanmukhapriya
and went to the stage. He then asked her if she'd like to sing for one of his compositions. This left her completely speechless and received thunderous applause from the audience and the judges.
Not just Anu Malik, but even singer
Udit Narayan, who appeared with him, compared her to Shakira. Other judges including
Neha Kakkar were impressed, too.
Not just Shanmukhapriya, even Nachiket Lele got applause from the judges for his singing. Anu Malik told him that singers like him make him feel alive. Take a look:

For the uninitiated, the popular music composer was a part of several seasons of Indian Idol but he was replaced in Season 10 by Javed Ali after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against him.
He was also a part of Season 11 but briefly. He had to step down after singers Sona Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin and Shweta Pandit tweeted against him.
Besides Anu Malik and Udit Narayan, Indian Idol has seen the appearance of several guests including Hema Malini, Jeetendra, Ekta Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. They all made the episodes more entertaining with their presence.
