A new comedy show starring Farida Jalal and Rakshanda Khan premieres on television tonight
A new show, “Ammaji Ki Galli”, is here to tickle your funny bone. The show is set in Amritsar, and is about some families residing in a galli, with a common link, Ammaji. Farida Jalal will be seen in a pivotal role, and Rakshanda Khan returns to daily soaps after a long hiatus.
The show premieres on June 20, and will be aired at 7:30 pm every Monday to Friday.
Ammaji is the eldest member of this galli, and has been paralysed since a long time. Everyone in the neighbourhood empathises with her and often pours their heart out to her, while she just empathises silently. Eventually, viewers will discover, how in her own way, Ammaji plays the invisible hand of God for the residents. Rakshanda plays the role of a vivacious Punjabi housewife with a fetish for cleanliness. Abir Goswami plays her husband Surjeet Singh, a quiet and intelligent man who is extremely good with numbers.
Says NP Singh, COO of Multi Screen, “SAB has tremendously added to the strength of the network, and with a slew of new launches slated for this year, we are confident that the channel will grow exponentially in terms of viewership and popularity.” Adds Anooj Kapoor, Executive VP and Business Head of the channel, ““Ammaji Ki Galli” has a small town feel to it. This would further add to our fresh, light-hearted family shows. Also, the presence of renowned actors like Farida Jalal and Rakshanda Khan would get more families across India to connect with the show.”
