Ankita Lokhande celebrates Maa Aaji’s 84th birthday, reveals she lives independently despite paralysis

Television superstar Ankita Lokhande turned emotional as she celebrated the 84th birthday of her beloved grandmother, whom she lovingly calls ‘Maa Aaji’.

On Tuesday, the actress shared a heartfelt video from the celebrations on social media and revealed that despite suffering from partial paralysis, her grandmother continues to live independently in her own home and refuses to depend on others.

The video captured several touching moments from the celebration. Dressed in a lime-yellow saree, Ankita was seen holding her grandmother’s hand and escorting her into the venue. Other clips showed family members gathering around the elderly matriarch, who was dressed in a red saree and adorned with flower garlands.



Ankita was also seen seeking her grandmother’s blessings and getting emotional during the event.

Sharing the video, Ankita wrote, “Happy birthday Maa Aaji.

The actress credited her grandmother for raising her from infancy and teaching her some of life’s most valuable lessons. She recalled learning the importance of faith, relationships, household responsibilities, and the value of money from her Maa Aaji.

Ankita further revealed that one of the qualities she admires most about her grandmother is her strength and determination. Despite having paralysis affecting half of her body, her grandmother continues to manage her daily routine on her own and prefers living in her own home rather than moving in with family members.

The actress added that she continues to learn something new from her grandmother every day and prayed for her to be blessed with a long, healthy, and happy life.

On the professional front, Ankita rose to fame with the hit television show Pavitra Rishta. She later made her Bollywood debut with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and was also seen in Baaghi 3. The actress has additionally appeared in reality shows such as Smart Jodi and Bigg Boss 17 alongside her husband, Vicky Jain.
