Aniruddh Dave: Cult shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat are back and its great
While everyone is under stress due to the corona crisis, one thing that has made a good impact is the re-run of cult shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat.
Talking about the general perception of web eating into TV viewership, Dave says that actors should not get insecure about the medium as it has provided more opportunities for actors. “It hardly matters because, in the end, the work for an actor increases and so do the opportunities to perform on different platforms. It’s a very good thing that in the era of web series boom, good content should come and people should get to watch. I myself believe that I am creative so that’s the reason I came into this industry, so I don’t get insecure." He further adds, "In fact, mediums have never really made much of a difference to the actor. “Acting is acting, be it on TV, theatre, films or OTT platforms. I am doing all three mediums together and I get a little less time for the theatre because for that you need to do many rehearsals. For an actor, the character is important, that’s it.”
Talking about his journey, the actor admits that there are many of his shows which are close to his heart. “Raajkumar Aaryyan was my first show where I played the title role. It was very important for me and I was very happy and learned so much from that show. Today also, I remember that day have worked with very good actors like Shahbaaz Khan, Nirmal Pandey, Manish Wadhwa. I enjoyed a lot and still remember and feel nostalgic,” he signs off.
TV actor Aniruddh Dave
considers it to be great to see these shows. Jaipur actor Dave says, "Thanks to the lockdown, cult shows like Ramayan are being telecast, which is such a great trend. Nowadays Ramayan and other shows are on air, it’s like we are again living that life. Ramayan was seen by maximum people during those days and the TRP was always high.”Aniruddh Dave
