Amruta Dhongade to join the cast of Vashikaranam; says 'It is a challenging space as an actor'
Marathi actress Amruta Dhongade will make her television comeback in Vashikaranam - Kis Par Rakhein Vishwas, portraying a character that promises to add a fresh emotional layer to the story.
Surekha, a young girl marked by grief due the death of her father, has takes center stage. She arrives with a clear perspective, blaming Suman for her father's demise, which creates a charged and shifting relationship.
Speaking about her role, Amruta said, “Surekha is a very emotionally driven character. She comes from a place where she is searching for answers, and that shapes how she reacts to everything around her. What I found interesting is that she carries both vulnerability and strength simultaneously. It is a challenging space as an actor, and I am looking forward to exploring these layers through her journey, while I am happy to be a part of Sony Entertainment Television’s family.”
Amruta, who began her career with the Marathi film Mithun, gained recognition for her performance as Kanchi. She later became a known face on television with Mrs. Mukhyamantri, where her portrayal of Suman (Sumi) brought her widespread attention. She solidified her standing with Chandane Shimpit Jashi, portraying Charu, a role that showcased her resilience and emotional depth. Her time on Bigg Boss Marathi 4 has also brought her to the attention to a larger viewership.
Amruta, with this role, plays a character who is both intense and emotionally complex, a role that continues her pattern of playing strong roles.
