Amrita Puri: Don’t want to reveal details about my personal life on reality TV

Along came Amrita Puri, with the monsoon clouds, albeit on a whirlwind promotional tour. This tour, however, was a tad different for the perky lass, who is going places talking small screen.
Quiz her about her decision to making moves in showbiz and she quickly pitches in saying, “I have always wanted to be a part of something that people love to watch. And I am always open to new ideas.”

Amrita, who seems to be smitten by Rabindranath Tagore’s stories, says, “When I received a call from Anurag Basu, I went to meet him with an open mind.My window of Tagore’s stories and works was through Satyajit Ray’s films.” The actress, who essays the role of Charulata in the show Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, adds, “The naiveté in Charu’s character is what touches me.”
Quiz her on whether she likes to pursue different genres in television, says, “I would definitely love to explore more of TV. Films can’t compete with Television so far as reach is concerned. So, I look forward to doing more content driven shows. But reality shows are not my cup of tea. All I understand is that I am here to act and I don’t want to reveal details about my personal life on a reality show. I am an avid viewer of seasons and they have always fascinated me.”
It’s not that only the glamour of entertainment keeps her occupied. Amrita takes pride in juggling between her acting skills and her entrepreneurial endeavours too. Says the actress, “My mom really kept me pushing in life and she’s the one who persuaded me to pursue on the entrepreneurial skills. As a person I want to grow in life, so I decided I will be and actor as well as an entrepreneur.”
Amrita gives all the credit of her success to her mother. Says the actress before signing off, “It is because of my mom that I developed an interest in theatre and I am great friends with her.”
