Amrita Prakash & Mohit Malhotra in Gumrah

Makers of Gumrah (Ekta Kapoor and Lost Boy Productions) aired on Channel V never stops amusing us.
The juvenile crime based show has been successfully entertaining viewers and this week the show will feature yet another spine-chilling real-life story of a small town girl Aaliya. We also hear that popular actors Amrita Prakash and Mohit Malhotra have been roped in to play pivotal roles on the show.
Sources inform that the plot of the episode will revolve around a small town girl Aaliya who cherishes a dream to go to Mumbai and make an identity of her own. She goes to Mumbai but ends up getting into wrong things like drugs, alcohol. The role of Aaliya will be played by beautiful and talented Amrita Prakash and the actor with a cute smile Mohit Malhotra has been finalized to essay a role with a grey shade.
When contacted, Amrita said, “I took up this story of Gumrah because it gave me a chance to try something that I've never tried before which is challenging and exciting to me. I play a good girl gone terribly wrong- with all the conventional vices. Thus breaking away from my goody- two- shoes image.”
We also talked, to Mohit who said, “Yes, I am doing the show and as an actor I want to try out different roles. I can’t keep doing sweet lover boy characters and with Gumrah, I am getting a chance to learn and also get away from stereotype roles.”
