Director Kut's Productions’ Amrit Manthan on Life OK has seen a replacement as Ankita Sharma steps in as the new Nimrit. Earlier the role was essayed by Dimple Jhangiani. But after Nimrit’s accident, she will resurface with the help of Mohan Kapoor aka Mr Oberoi. Sources inform that Nimrit’s face will be disfigured and post a surgery, will come back to take revenge on her sister.
Sounds clichéd perhaps?
Remember the movie
Yeh Vaada Raha starring
Rishi Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim? In the movie too, Sunita (Poonam Dhillon) and Vikram (Rishi Kapoor) are in love with one another and on their day of marriage, their car meets with an accident. Sunita whose face has been badly disfigured, returns in a new avatar (Tina Munim) after her plastic surgery.
The man behind the show, producer Rajan Shahi seems to think differently. When asked if the story of
Amrit Manthan was inspired by the film
Yeh Vaada Raha, he said, "I can’t confirm the storyline. All I can say is that it is the highest dramatic point on the show. Something has happened which is why Nimrit has changed".
The producer also dispels rumours about Dimple’s replacement, "The story demanded a certain change. That’s why Ankita was brought in. It has nothing to do with the actor (Dimple Jhangiani)". Is TV turning more and more towards Bollyoowd? Firstly, the use of romantic filmy songs in TV serials, then the titles of shows being lifted from Bollywood songs and now, the similarity between the plotlines.
Television and Bollywood certainly can’t co-exist without one another!
