Altamash Faraz reveals secret to choosing roles and bringing life to every character: I bring elements to make it engaging
The kind of roles Altamash Faraz has taken on, over time, have helped him build a name for himself in showbiz. The actor has shown that he is not afraid to try new things, like giving his characters new life and trying out different colours on screen. His journey so far shows that he has made some smart decisions and knows what works for him as a performer.
For him, it’s always a combination of multiple elements coming together. Talking about the same, he shared, “Of course, these are the verticals I consider before associating with anything. The story, the character and the team are the fundamental deciding factors for me as they help me visualise beforehand what we will be able to achieve.”
For the actor, it’s important to have clarity before saying yes to a project. He looks at how the story shapes up, how his character fits into it, and the kind of people he will be working with. These aspects help him understand the potential of the project even before it goes on the floor.
However, once he makes up his mind, his approach completely changes. “But once I decide on the project, I surrender to it completely. I give my best to everything and try to make it as watchable, interesting and exciting as I can,” he said. This shift from analysis to complete involvement is something he strongly believes in.
Altamash also feels that even a simple story can be made engaging if an actor brings something real into it. “Even if it is a simple story, I would bring interesting elements from life and make it engaging,” he added. According to him, real-life observations play a big role in shaping performances.
Interestingly, his love for travelling has contributed a lot to his craft. “This is where my travel has helped me a lot to shape my characters. I love travelling, and I have seen the world. I have done amazing adventures and have crazy stories from around the world,” he shared. These experiences, he believes, give him a wider perspective and keep his ideas fresh.
At the same time, he understands the importance of working within the given space. “However, having said that, we still have to understand the premise of the show and the character and play within it, working collaboratively with the team,” he concluded.
For Altamash Faraz, choosing a role is just the beginning. What truly matters is how honestly he brings it to life once he commits to it.
