All of us were emotional during the last few days of shooting, says Hiba Nawab as Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai wraps up after a six-month run
TV show
Hiba, who was seen as the protagonist in both shows, says, “It was an amazing experience as I got to play a double role in Jijaji Chhat Parr Koii Hai (JCPKH). I got an opportunity to learn a lot about myself, my personality and skills. There was so much to do in Jijaji Chhat Per Hain and my character, Ilaichi, was loved by viewers. So, I am glad that I was a part of the sequel as well. This time, I got to play a double role – a ghost and a modern-day girl. I enjoyed playing the ghost more because there was so much to explore. Initially, I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of playing a negative character (of the ghost). I have always played seedha or sharaarati girl in my previous shows. However, with JCPKH I got to explore a new aspect of the actor in me. Though I wish aur bhi karne ko milta as I would have got to explore much more, yeh story itni hi thi. So, I am content.”
While she has learnt to take goodbyes in a positive way, one is bound to get teary-eyed on the last day of the shoot. She says, “All of us were emotional during the last few days. We were happy, too, as we did something nice. We worked hard on our characters and enjoyed the journey till it lasted. I have understood that it’s a part of showbiz because ek show band hota hai tabhi doosri nayi shuruaat hoti hai. I have started taking it positively. I don’t feel sad. Yes, I do get emotional, but I like to cherish all the moments I have spent while shooting the show, the learning and experience as an artiste.”
For now, Hiba plans to take a short break and has a long to-do list before she gets back to work again. “During the lockdown, I put on almost eight kilos. Fortunately, it doesn’t show much, but I need to work out. So, these days I am working out rigorously and following a strict diet. Once I get back into shape, I wish to work on some music videos. After that, I will take a short break, which I do after every project. I like to take a break and travel. This time also, I am planning to travel with my family towards the end of this year. After all the weight loss, the travelling and the chilling, I will get back to work (smiles),” she signs off.
