Ali Merchant, no hero

After his marriage fiasco on a reality show, Ali Merchant now lies about playing a lead role in a film to publicise it! His buddy Shaleen Bhanot has a role to play here too!
A few months ago Ali Merchant entered Bigg Boss and married Sara Khan on the show. The couple was already married, but they didn’t mind lying about their marital status for money.
The controversy had begun to cool down when Ali has got himself into a new situation, this time lying about playing the lead in a movie, which he isn’t doing at all.This film stars television actor Shaleen Bhanot, who’s a close friend of Ali and was a business partner too, and his wife Daljeet Kaur.
The idea was to get attention to the film, by claiming that it’s based on Ali and Sara’s life and that he was playing the lead. None of this is true. Ali’s absence at the film mahurat and Shaleen being introduced as the main lead blew the lid off. When BT cornered Ali on this, he finally admitted, “I am innocent. I only said what I was told to say by the film’s PR. They have used me for the publicity of the film.”
Shaleen, however, continued to feign ignorance. “If it’s a gimmick, it’s very bad, and I will definitely have some questions for the producer. I don’t like to get involved in projects which are controversial,” he said. Shaleen said he was always the one who was offered the role. “I signed the contract in January and even received my signing amount.” So why didn’t he bother to clarify with Ali, especially when they are friends? “The producer had asked me not to reveal to anyone that I am doing the film. He’d said that it will be announced with a bang.”
Well, what do we say now? Is Shaleen too going the Ali way?
