Akanksha Chamola: There is no trouble between Gaurav and me
A recent Instagram post by Akanksha Chamola sparked speculation about her personal life. The actress shared a line that read, “Jis rishte ki buniyaad mein sirf zarooratein ho, wahan dil hamesha qurbaan hota hai,” prompting online chatter about whether there was trouble in her marriage with actor and Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna.
Addressing the assumptions, Akanksha says, “There is absolutely no trouble in our marriage, and the post had nothing to do with Gaurav. I am not someone who discusses personal matters on social media. The post was meant to promote my upcoming series. It was open to interpretation, but it was blown out of proportion.”
‘Not choosing motherhood is a personal choice’
Soon after, she found herself on the receiving end of online trolling, with several users linking the post to ongoing social media discussions around Gaurav’s desire to become a father and her decision not to pursue motherhood. Responding to this, she laughs, “I am the troll queen at the moment! I have always been open about this subject. Gaurav is more guarded because he wants to protect my image. We have an age difference, and he is mature enough to understand my point of view. I have clearly said that I don’t see myself choosing motherhood. It’s a personal choice and I don’t feel the need to justify it to anyone.”
She says the hostility exists only online. “Outside social media, I’ve never met anyone who has told me I’m wrong or questioned my choices. The people I meet are supportive and happy to see someone living life on her own terms. I receive far more love and positivity than hate,” she says, adding, “Luckily, I’m not image-conscious. I am comfortable being called the villain, because it comes from people’s love for Gaurav. In the end, my husband stands by me, and we know what we mean to each other.”
‘In a relationship, you don’t compete with each other’
On suggestions that she is enjoying the spotlight following Gaurav’s win, Akanksha says, “If I wanted attention, I could have taken it while he was inside the Bigg Boss house. I don’t deny that some visibility has come my way, but I am not chasing it or seeking the limelight. I attend parties and events with him because I am his partner, and it is his choice to include me. In a relationship, you don’t compete with each other; you support one another. There is no comparison between us. Gaurav is far more successful, and why would I feel insecure about my partner’s success? He wants me by his side, so where is the question of insecurity?”
