It’s time for a new beginning for actor Karan Vohra, who plays the male lead on the TV show 'Zindagi Ki Mehek', which was shot in Delhi. With the show wrapping up in the last week of this month, Karan is all set to move to Mumbai next month. While the mood is sombre on the set of the show ever since the news of its wrap was announced, Karan has taken the development in his stride.
He is, in fact, looking forward to a new innings in a new city.
Says the actor, “I am a Delhi boy and my primary reason for taking up 'Mehek' was that the shoot was in my city. While shooting in Delhi, I was completely cut off from the industry. We would come to Mumbai only during award functions and meetings. We were away from the limelight and I almost felt like an alien. Now I am looking forward to meeting people in the industry. I am not desperate to plunge into a new project immediately. I would rather take my time to study how things work here. My younger brother, Kunal, is already there and my mother keeps shuttling between the two cities. Now, the whole family will be together.”
However, the actor, who got married in 2012, will have to leave his wife, Bella, behind. Reason: She works with an airline and moving to Mumbai will be difficult for her. He shares, “Since Bella is required to work at the head office, she will be shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai.” While they seem to be going strong, we ask the actor about the reports of a showdown between Bella and his co-actor Samiksha Jaiswal (protagonist on 'Mehek'). Buzz was that his wife slapped her over Karan and Samiksha’s alleged proximity. However, he denies any truth to the reports and says, “My wife and Samiksha are good friends. Aren’t lead pairs always targeted in showbiz? Bina news banaaye kaam kaise chalega?”
Talking about the temptations one could give in to, the actor adds, “We are all human and emotions sometimes come to the fore. We know that it’s a show and we are only acting. I can fantasise about the fact that I am a hero for a while, but I am a mature person. I am not going to get carried away. I know that I have a wife and am completely aware of my responsibilities.”
