Nashik: The well-known actor, Nitesh Pandey, was found dead at a hotel in Igatpuri town of Nashik district after Tuesday midnight, said the Nashik rural police.
The police inspector of Igatpuri police station, Raju Surve, told TOI that Pandey had checked into the hotel at 10:30 am on Tuesday. "But thereafter he did not come out of his room. The hotel staff got panicky and contacted the local police. A police team went to the hotel and opened his room at 2:00 am on Wednesday and found him dead," added Surve.
The police have sent his body to Nashik Civil Hospital for postmortem. "The cause of his death will be known only after the autopsy report comes," said Surve.
The initial feedback that the local police had got that Pandey, apart from being an actor, is also a script writer for TV serials. "Our feedback is that he came to Igatpuri to write a script either for a movie or a TV serial. We are garnering more details on his visit to Igatpuri," added Surve.
