Abhishek Kapur: My birthday coinciding with Gurpurab makes the day extremely auspicious
There is more than one reason for Abhishek Kapur, best known for his role as Sameer Luthra in Kundali Bhagya, to celebrate his birthday today. The day holds special spiritual significance as it coincides with Gurpurab, making the occasion doubly meaningful. To add to the celebration, Abhishek also performed a special puja at his new home, where he moved in just a few weeks ago.
Reflecting on the day, Abhishek shares, “I performed a puja as this occasion was extremely auspicious, with my birthday and Gurpurab falling on the same day. I also moved into a new home recently, and a puja was due. Everything came together perfectly, so I decided to perform the ceremony to mark the occasion.”
The celebrations began on a warm and personal note, as his Kundali Bhagya co-actors and close friends Sanjay Gagnani and Anjuum Faakih dropped by to ring in his birthday. Talking about their bond, Abhishek says, “Yes, they did come over to make the day truly special. They are my close friends and make it a point to visit every year to wish me in person.”
While the day was filled with festivities and prayers, Abhishek admits to missing his family back home in Delhi. He shares, “I last went to Delhi in April, and I am definitely missing them on my birthday. So, I am planning a trip home soon to spend some time with them.”
Even though he enjoyed a quiet celebration this year, Abhishek reveals that he would have ideally preferred to be on set. He says, “I wanted to have a working birthday, and I was supposed to shoot for something, but it got postponed. On the work front, two of my web series are scheduled for release soon. I am quite excited about these projects because I play the lead role in both. Playing the lead was long due, and that’s what makes these projects so important and special to me.”
As for his birthday wish, Abhishek hopes for continued growth, both personally and professionally. He shares, “My birthday wish would be to make a bigger name for myself and also contribute to society and those in need. I want to uplift others as much as possible and continue to grow in my craft.”
