Entertainment industry woke up to the news of the sudden demise of actor Amit Mistry. He passed away due to heart attack earlier today (April 23). The actor, who has worked in several films, TV shows and web shows, was 47.
Amit played the role of Birbal in popular show Tenali Rama and his co-star Aasiya Kazi is deeply saddened by the news. Aasiya told ETimes TV, “He was in Tenali Rama for a cameo role.
I never got an opportunity to share the screen space with him. But I would listen from my co-stars that he was very professional, would come on time, and do his work with perfection. He was very passionate about his work.”
She further said, “His scenes in Tenali were really nice, we would discuss all these. It’s really sad to hear this news. It’s very shocking. It took me a while to realise that he is the one who was with us in Tenali Rama. It is really shocking. May his soul rest in peace. I just hope all the negativity that is around, everything should get alright soon.”
Amit was last seen on TV in Maddam Sir in the role of Vijay Chauhan.
His manager Maharshi Desai, who has been managing him since some time now, confirmed the news of his death. “I am in complete shock myself. He was all well and was at his home only. He didn’t even complain of any health issue. Post breakfast he felt an ache in his heart and it was a heart attack and his family couldn’t even take him to the hospital.”
Our condolences to the family.
