After portraying the female lead’s sister in Naagin 6 and Kumkum Bhagya, Aashvi Bisht is set to take on a similar role in Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain. The show features Diksha Dhami as the heroine and Ishita Ganguly as the antagonist. The 22-year-old actress shares, “I play the heroine’s sister in the show and also the parallel lead, which is a first for me and an exciting opportunity. My character, Rani, is happy-go-lucky and self-obsessed. Agar usko koi opportunity mile paise banaane ki, toh she won’t hesitate to hurt others, albeit unknowingly. The track will become more engaging as the story progresses.”

Ask her if she’s keen to move beyond the image of the lead’s sister on TV, and she responds, “Everything happens at the right time. I believe in consistently working and growing. This is my first parallel lead, so it’s definitely a step up. The show gives me the chance to work under Raghuveer Shekhawat, a renowned writer turned producer. It’s a great team, and I’m learning so much from them. Eventually, I want to take on lead roles, but I want to be fully prepared to do them justice. Since I’m not a trained actor, the set becomes my classroom.”

Aashvi’s journey into showbiz has been equally interesting. A chance encounter during a shoot for a music single changed her life. She recalls, “I was visiting relatives in Dehradun when I attended the shoot for Jubin Nautiyal’s single. Unexpectedly, the assistant director approached me and asked if I would do a quick shot as the lead’s friend. It was just a four-second clip, but the positive feedback I received motivated me to consider acting seriously.”

She continues, “That experience was my first time on a set. In 2021, I joined a theatre group at Mandi House in Delhi, where I met many people who had returned to their hometowns from Mumbai. Inspired, I started sharing my profile online, and that led to a selection for a digital ad for a skincare brand. I moved to Mumbai in 2022, and four months later, I landed Naagin 6 after auditions.”
