‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’: Anas Rashid Sings Title Track
Anas Rashid has gone behind the mike to sing a track for his TV show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum,' and the actor didn’t find it easy at all! The actor, who plays the role of Sooraj Rathi in the Star Plus show, has lent his voice for the special and sad title track. He himself took the initiative and asked the production house to let him sing the song.“Singing isn’t an easy thing to do. There’s a lot that goes into it. However, I did make sure my effort didn’t go to vain, and I sang from my heart,” Rashid said in a statement. Currently, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' is gearing up for a rather power-packed climax with Mission Mahaabali now reaching its point of execution. Rashid, who shares screen space with Deepika Singh as the female lead, notes that the track fits the sequence well. “The title track is very touching and is exactly what Sooraj is going through on the show. Vaishali Thakkar not tired of playing mother on small screen
She famously essayed 'Ammu' in "Uttaran" for five years, and now she has taken on the role of a mother yet again in 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'. But actress Vaishali Thakkar doesn't mind it. “It depends on the kind of mother I play. In 'Uttaran', my character as a mother had a lot of depth. Here in 'Diya Aur Baati Hum', my role is a little psychotic and a little inconsistent... so it's not monotonous," "I very consciously did not take characters with the same shades... knowing very well that I do not want to be typecast," added the 50-year-old actress, who plays Manjiri in the Star Plus show. Having been part of a show as long-running as 'Uttaran', Vaishali was asked to comment on the system of seasons in fiction shows -- a fad popular in the west, and which is now being adopted in India. She said it is an interesting approach, but the audience of our country is not yet ready for it. "A season style would be very interesting, but it is going to take time for the audience to come to that level. It is better for reality shows as of now, but when you talk about a loyal audience who have to watch you each and every day, they are so glued to television... and to make them understand the seasonal thing is slightly difficult," the actress said. Vaishali also added that even though the approach is interesting, there is so much competition in the TV industry that breaking a show at its peak would not be a good idea. "Right now, there are so many channels and there's so much competition that it would not be very sensible... because after all, it is a huge business. If a show is doing very well, then why would the channel shut the show, and give the TRPs to the other competent channel," Vaishali said.

Deepika’s first Delhi performance
Deepika Singh aka Sandhya of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' recently performed at the Janmashtami celebrations in the capital. The actress, who belongs to Delhi, told us that this was the first time she got to perform in front of Delhiites. She said, “I haven’t had the time to come to Delhi after I started acting in the show. What I usually do is take a flight to Delhi, stay here for the night, and then fly back early morning. Even this time it was a short trip but I got to dance in front of my Delhi fans. It was really nice because I saw how much my fans here like me!” With talks about Delhi being developed into a film and TV hub, isn’t Deepika looking forward to shooting here for any show? “Now that I’m married, I don’t think it will be possible for me to take up something that will be shot completely outside Mumbai. I’ve been hearing about these reports and even my husband (TV director Rohit) has been offered shows based in Delhi. But I don’t see myself moving back to Delhi,” she told us.
