A trip back to the 2000s kids' special TV shows: 'Best of Luck Nikki ', 'M.A.D.' and more

The 2000s were indeed a magical time for all kids who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s. Life was simple, and the evening meant TV time, and happiness came in 30-minute episodes. We would rush back home from school just to catch our favorite shows. These dramas were not just something we watched; they became a part of our childhood.

'Best of Luck Nikki ' (2011-2016)

This television series brought us the family of Singh, who were chaotic and lovable. The dramatic nature of Dolly and the cute narration of Nikki helped in making each episode enjoyable to watch. The fights between brothers were so real and identifiable. It was a spot-on portrayal of family insanity in the middle classes with humour and affection, starring Sheena Bajaj, Gurdeep Kohli, and Gireesh Sahedev, and directed by Anushka Mohan.

'The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir' (2012-2013)

Karan & Kabir were the kings of mischief in the luxurious hotel backdrop. Their never-ending pranks and comical plans left us entertained. Mr. Maan Singh’s reactions added to the fun. It was comedy, chaos, and childhood fun all mixed into one show. this show was directed by Aniruddha Rajderkar and starring Shivshakti Sachdev, Karanvir Sharma, Tara Sutaria, and Aashka Goradia.

'M.A.D.' (2005-2010)

M.A.D. was definitely one of the most popular creative programs of our childhood. Rob Bessant hosted the show, and it made art easy, fun, and exciting for kids. The program promoted creativity using everyday materials and simple techniques. Each episode was like an art class that we looked forward to. Created by Miditech and hosted by Rob Bessant along with appearances by Tanvi Hegde and Murtaza Kutianawala.

'Shaka Laka Boom Boom' (2000-2004)

The concept of a magic pencil that could bring drawings to life was very intriguing for all of us. Sanju’s experiences were a mix of school and fantasy. The series promoted imagination and curiosity. It made us learn that magic may even be found in the most ordinary of things, with Kinshuk Vaidya, Hansika Motwani, Saadhil Kapoor, and Adnan Jp making the magic feel real under Vijay Krishna Acharya’s vision.

'Shararat' (2003-2006)

The antics of Jiya with all his bubblyness and the magic spells of Dadi were something to remember. The series had a perfect blend of comedy and magic. It is one of the most remembered magical series on Indian television. It was literally our desi Harry Potter era. Starring Shruti Seth, Farida Jalal, Poonam Narula, and Karanvir Bohra creating that unforgettable charm, guided by Anant Mahadevan.
