10 logic-defying TV scenes that were badly trolled

Indian television is known for drama. But sometimes the drama can get really stretched and assume bizarre proportions. Over the years, there have been some scenes from different shows that were so crazy that they got trolled badly on social media. Here's a look...

More recently, in the show Swarna Ghar, there was a scene where actor Ajay Chaudhary who plays Ajit, tries to rescue Sangita Ghosh’s character Swarna after her dupatta gets stuck on a stand fan. As the knot gets tighter and strangles her, a crowd gathers to save her. What's bizarre is that instead of turning her around or loosening the cloth, Ajit tears the dupatta with his teeth! Viewers were too stunned to react.. they did not know whether to laugh or cry and netizens had a field day. Celebs like Kamya Panjabi criticised it openly on their social media. Actress Sangita Ghosh was clearly unhappy and a =day later put a post saying, "The show is a progressive one and has been lauded for its content. Yes, we faltered but that doesn’t mean we are not doing good work. Television has been instrumental in taking up so many sensitive topics. I, myself, have done some amazing work.”

Years ago on Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, which was one of the long-running shows on TV, the lead character Gopi bahu washed the laptop with soap and water! Even though the show is off air, people still remember this scene and often joke about it. Recently when the new season of the show began, the makers did make good use of this scene. They referred to it in some way in the promo before the launch of the show.

Simar, played by Dipika Kakkar Ibrahim, in a scene gets slapped by her mother- in- law. This was one of the most dramatic slaps on TV after which she rolls far away and gets entangled in the curtains. Thankfully, her housemates came to save her! Another scene where Simar turned into a makkhi was also bizarre. Both these continue to be on people's minds even after the show went off air a few years ago.

People roasted Helly Shah and the show Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 after a suitcase scene was aired in 2020. Ridhima, played by Helly Shah, trips over an open suitcase and bangs her head against a wall. After taking the blow to her head, she falls into the same suitcase in the posture that has her fit inside it. The suitcase zips itself and Ridhima gets trapped inside it. Then someone locks that suitcase and throws it into a pool. Helly said it was a tough scene for her to shoot and she had a terrible neck pain as well. But viewers are still wondering how she managed to fit in that suitcase.

In an episode of Naagin 5, actors Surbhi Jyoti and Mohit Sehgal are seen kissing. But not in their human version but as Naag and Naagin. A bizarre video starts playing where they are seen kissing with forked tongues. This happens when the two realise that in the past they were in love. They kissed while the audience cringed!

TV shows often see different kinds of love stories. But the makers of Thapki Pyar Ki in 2016 took it a level higher by introducing a Gorilla who falls in love with Thapki. Thapki brings the Gorilla home and they start spending time together. At one point, the beast becomes concerned about her a lot. Gorilla also gives tough competition to Bihaan and Dhruv, the male leads in the show.

When actress Mansi Shrivastava turned a lizard in the show Divya Drishti in 2019, she was brutally trolled. The character Lavanya uses her power to turn into a lizard so that she can have a fake marriage with her love. In an interview then Mansi had said that it was her job and she would do anything to do it right. Moreover it was just a twist to make the show better. Well, the viewers did get a shock with the strange twist!

In one of the episodes of the childhood classic, which 90's kids would have seen, Shaktimaan gets trapped in a computer by the villain, who then attempts to crop him into pieces. There's more. Geeta prints Shaktimaan who then comes to his original form and destroys the villain! Woh Shaktimaan hai, kuch bhi kar sakta hai must have been the reasoning of the writers.

So, he drops the cockroach in his milk and drinks it. We wonder what actor Karanvir Bohra felt while he was enacting the scene.

A clip from Yehh Jadu Hai Jin Ka, which went off air in November 2020, went viral when the actor pulled the moon with his powers. In the video, the female protagonist Roshni, eho has angelic powers, announces that she will marry the man who gets her a chaand ka tukda. This is when the male lead took the 'chaand taare tod laaunga' line a bit too literally! The actor tries to use a rope to pull the moon down. And when that doesn’t work, he drives to space in his car to get a piece of the moon! Aisa bhi hota hai, said viewers after watching the scene.
