The Bollywood movie ‘Garam Masala’, released in 2005, was directed by the renowned director Priyadarshan and it was an official remake of his own superhit movie ‘Boeing Boeing’ starring actor Mohanlal and Mukesh in the lead which was released in the year 1985. In the Bollywood movie ‘Garam Masala’, the actors Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen essayed major roles and the script was penned down by Priyadarshan himself and the dialogues by Neeraj Vora and Jay Master. The film ‘Garam Masala’ was a humongous Box office hit during that time.

Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Boss’ was released in the year 2013 and was an official remake of the Mammootty starrer film ‘Pokkiri Raja’. The film ‘Boss’ was directed by Anthony D’ Souza. Although the film was an official remake of ‘Pokkiri Raja’, most of the scenes in ‘Boss’ were executed in a different style. Apart from the stylish appearance of Akshay Kumar and the beautiful songs, the film ‘Boss’ got mixed responses from the audience and was only an average hit at the Box office.

The film ‘Vellanakalude Naadu’ had actors Mohanlal and Shobana playing the major lead roles and the film was directed by Priyadarshan. ‘Vellanakalude Naadu’ was released in the year 1988 and received much adulation from the audience. Priyadarshan took to remake the film in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar in the lead and the remake was titled ‘Khatta Meetta’ released in the year 2010. When the same storyline of ‘Vellanakalude Naadu’ was rehashed in ‘Khatta Meetta’, the audience felt it was an outdated concept and Priyadarshan couldn’t bring the magic onto the screens with ‘Khatta Meetta’. The film got many mixed responses from the audience.
