True Detective
" may return for the third season.
The show, which debuted in 2014 with

Woody Harrelson in the lead roles, became a critical hit and
HBO
President of Programming
Casey Bloys
hopes to come up with third season, reported ET online.
"It's not dead. I talked to (creator) Nic (Pizzolato) about it. Both Nic and HBO were hoping for a third season. I don't think Nic has a take. He's working on some other projects. We're open to someone else writing it and Nic (overseeing) it," he said.
