On Tuesday night, Huntley was crowned The Voice season 24 winner, marking coach
Niall Horan's second win in a row. "You are the voice, Huntley. Congratulations," said host Carson Daly. He burst into tears and embraced runner-up Ruby Leigh. Horan then jumped onstage and hugged him tightly.
Huntley and Horan dueted on Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" during the show.
Team Niall's Mara Justine, Team Reba's Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh, and Team Legend's Lila Forde were all beaten out by the 33-year-old singer. Huntley drew the coaches' attention right away with his four-chair turn audition of "She Talks to Angels."
"I was hearing something, Huntley... I'm not sure if you've heard of Daniel Merriweather, an English singer. There was another character named James Morrison. "I'm hearing this tone, like the Chris Stapleton thing, that's a natural tone," Horan, 30, explained. "I'm sure you used to sing like that when you were 15." You sing your way, you sing very directly, and you have a lot of power and control. It's so lovely to listen to."
While coach Gwen Stefani reacted, "Your voice is just so automatic. you know exactly at what point you're going to be raspy and it's pure and honest. You sound like you've been singing forever. You're just comfortable."
He brought his 6-year-old daughter Stella onstage to assist him in making his decision, and she chose Horan to be his coach.
Huntley, who is from Fredericksburg, Virginia, opened up about all the love and support he's received on social media ahead of the finale.
"This is crazy. "So blessed and grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey," he wrote on Instagram. "Even though someone will be crowned a winner, we've all just been trying to create moments of genuine artistry and the amount of support from all over has meant so much to all of us."
His debut single "Holdin On" was released in 2022.
