Steve Burns is marking a special milestone today; here’s a hint

It’s all about cake and candles! The original Blue’s Clues host is celebrating his 51st birthday on Oct. 9, and fans flooded social media with tributes. “The fact that you continue to show up for us proves it was never just a show, thank you

,” one fan wrote on Burns’ latest TikTok. Another added, “One of my childhood heroes!” Blue’s Clues first aired in 1996 on Nickelodeon, with Burns as the iconic host.


He remained until 2000, when Donovan Patton stepped in as Steve’s brother Joe, carrying the show until its end in 2006. In 2019, Josh Dela Cruz took on the lead role in the reboot Blue’s Clues & You! and continues to represent the franchise, including starring in the 2022 Paramount+ movie.


Burns recently delivered the keynote address at SUNY Delhi’s 2023 commencement ceremony. Speaking to around 800 graduates, he shared heartfelt words of wisdom and references to his time on the beloved children’s show. He even reflected on how much Blue’s Clues still means to so many and offered advice drawn from the show’s memorable Paw Prints song.
