Filmmaker duo Anthony and
Joe Russo are working on the TV adaptation of the classic gang film "
The Warriors
".
They are working with writer Frank Baldwin, Paramount TV, and Hulu on the one-hour drama series, which will be based on Walter Hill's 1979 movie of the same name, reported Deadline.
The cult classic is itself an adaptation of Sol Yurick's popular 1965 novel.
The 1979 version of "The Warriors" focuses on the bitter rivalry between a slew of New York City gangs, intensified when one group, the Warriors, is framed for killing another clan's leader, leading to a violent struggle to reclaim their stomping grounds.
