It’s the fourth season of ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’ and once again the celebs are trying out their luck with the American wheel to win $ 1 million for charity. Host Pat Sajak, on the other hand made headlines over his recent ‘retirement joke’ that he made in the premiere night of the show.
Pat added some spice to the premiere night with his jokes and controversial statements. The episode saw how Ted Lasso won the game in the latest episode and Melissa had a hard luck. Pat took over the stage with co-host Vanna White.
It started with Pat asking Brendan, “Everybody wants to know, Ted Lasso has run its course, everybody wants to know, what’s next for you?” He replied and said, “Golly I should really figure out what’s next.”
To this, Pat made an abrupt statement and said, “yes you and me both.” This stirred the controversy with fans questioning if the joke was related to his retirement. SNL alum Melissa, on the other hand, had a round game with her winning $0. Joe and Brendan, on the other when won $5000 and $34000 respectively. Later, Pat joked about the same and said, “nobody is out of the game, believe me or not.”
Melissa also rang in on a puzzle despite Brendan ringing in first to which got the crowd pretty upset. Pat walked over to Melissa and said: “He’s doing well enough without you giving him anything.”she then apologised for her behaviour.
Brendan sums up with $56K in the first round and got the bonus puzzle correct getting him an extra $100K (for charity). Brendan also won the second round with a giant $228K before the bonus round.
