Kaya Scodelario and Benjamin Walker have decided to go their separate ways. The former Skins star, 31, and the Tony-nominated actor, 41, separated last year after nearly eight years of marriage.
When contacted for comment, a representative told PEOPLE: "Some time ago, Kaya and Ben decided to end their marriage but continue to co-parent lovingly while staying the best of friends.
They want their privacy and that of their children to be respected as they continue to move forward as a family."
The British stars married in December 2015 and have two children: a seven-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.
They kept their personal lives out of the spotlight, but Scodelario last posted an Instagram snapshot of the two together in September 2022. The couple grinned and stood next to one other while attending a wedding in Tuscany.
Scodelario and Walker initially met in 2014, while filming The King's Daughter. By the end of the year, the couple had been engaged following a whirlwind affair that began as a friendship.
After a year-long engagement, the star of the upcoming Netflix series The Gentlemen and the actor from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power married in December 2015. At the time, Scodelario announced the wedding on Instagram with a shot of their cake topper, which included a man, woman, and a French bulldog that resembled their pet.

In 2019, she disclosed her engagement. I didn't have any family heirlooms. Nothing was ever passed down to me, so when I met my husband and we fell in love, he purchased me a Cartier Love bracelet for our first Christmas together," she explained. "He claims that it was then that he realized he wanted to buy me an engagement ring, thus he weirdly proposed with a love bangle."
In December 2016, after a year of marriage, the couple had their first child.
Their family expanded in January 2022, when they welcomed their second child. The Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City actress shared the news on Instagram, with a shot of herself cradling the newborn and Walker standing close, smiling at the camera.
"You made it here, little one," Scodelario captioned the photo. "Starting the new year with so much love in our hearts & in our home."
Walker was previously married to Meryl Streep's daughter, Mamie Gummer, from 2011 to 2013.
The Sun was the first to report on Walker and Scodelario's separation.
